Anchorages
Vessels requiring to anchor for any reason within terminal limits should do so within the area enclosed between positions:
or within reasonable proximity to the east if congestion arises in anchorage area.
All vessels within the terminal area shall navigate with care and caution, at a safe speed, and in a manner which shall not endanger the safety of other vessels.
Vessels or craft shall not anchor near any submarine lines within the port limits.
Pilot boarding
Pilot normally boards the vessel approx. 1.0–1.5 n.m. east of the berth. Vessels are requested to have pilot ladder of approved pattern safely and securely rigged and ready for immediate use. When it is necessary for a vessel to anchor before berthing, she should do so in the recommended anchorage area. Pilots are available at all times from Sea Island Terminal.
